Please see my review of the hull cleaner for the 1st step of cleaning the pontoons. I finished today 10/8/2014 with the applications. The product did not remove the hardened black calcified deposit as I thought it would. I did not understand the "foaming" part until I saw the oxidized materials being pulled out of the aluminum. I though that what I was originally was looking at was residual white scum until I began the agitation. Then like magic, any residual oxidized striations left behind from 1st step were gone. This was very noticeable at the ladder where I could not get the amount of agitation I wanted behind the mount. The toons were rinsed with a garden hose - no need for the pressure washer. The product left the toons shiny - as a matter of fact, all the welds look new. The toons are so clean that any little water drip left a mark. Chasing the drips was a pain but once dry, they look great. Wish I could upload a couple of pics. In the spring I will polish but right now when the sun reflects off the aluminum it actually makes you squint. The total process took 18hrs - again, it is what one is looking for for the finished product. The toons had 2 years of build up on them as well. I'm suspecting next year and some of the lessons learned on the 1st step review it may not be as long as a process. With that said, I'm glad I did them and not go another year. One more point, I kept the entire surface wet with the cleaner as in the 1st step. Will do this on a yearly basis unless someone develops a product that inhibits growth. The only reason why I'm giving this a 4 is because it did not remove the hardened black calcified material. I will hit these areas hard next year on the 1st step.
Spray on and let it sit and it works wonderful on major surface rusted aluminum. I know its wierd to see aluminum rust but thats what happens stacked and wet. We tried wax, sandpaper and nothing worked untill we tried this.
Great product! It does exactly what is advertised!
I recommend aluma kleen before I was finished cleaning my boat, what is this stuff? works wonders
Price and quality are both excellent. I tried more expensive Aluminum cleaner that I bought at an RV and a Boat store and both did not work like Aluma Kleen. Impressed enough to tell friends who purchased it for their horse trailer.
